Doris' Tea Cakes (Hot Cross Buns)

1 1/2 cups warm water

Mix in 4 ozs. shortening

Mix well and add:

2 cakes yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup water

Add:

6 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup currents
1/2 cup evaporated milk

Let raise until doubled and punch down.  Form into balls.  Let raise.

Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown.  Frost if desired with vanilla frosting.
