8 1/2 cups sugar
4 cups water
2 T or 25 whole cloves
25 cinnamon sticks
1 gallon cider
5 or 6 candied ginger chopped
4 quarts canned orange juice
2 cups lemon juice
Combine sugar and water. Boil 10 minutes. Add spices and let mixture stand in a warm place for 1 hour. Strain. Add orange and lemon juice and cider. Bring to boil and serve.
Yield: 4 gallons which serves 54 to 60
